Hi All
I'm looking for the family of the above. He was born in 1774 in Sandhurst Kent and in 1851 he was living with his son in law (Charles Tree) and daughter Eliza in Northiam (Sussex) He was listed as a pauper by law?

Any help gratfully received

The 1841 does not show birthplaces - just whether they were born in the county in which they were living at that time.  Also - ages were rounded down to the nearest 5 years

There were 14 Thomas Lawrence entries b between 1771-1776 and none were in Kent.  One in Sussex is shown as born there

3 are shown as not born in the county in which they were living - Gloucester, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire

Without further info it would be impossible to determine which was the correct entry

By the way - they were not living in Sussex in 1851 - Northiam is in Kent.  Thomas was not a "pauper by law"  he was a pauper - ag lab -agricultural labourer

Hi idrm,
I was doing a search of rootchat past messages and came across yours. I am researching TREE surname in Sussex and have some information on Charles Tree & Eliza Lawrence. I believe (but yet confirmed) that Charles Tree is a brother of the Griffess Tree that I am researching. I have not researched the Lawrence family.
Here goes:
Charles Tree married by banns Eliza Lawrence 29 Jan 1829, Northiam parish church, Sussex. They indicated they were both of this parish at the time.
Charles Tree was baptised 3 March 1806 at Northiam Parish church to parents William & Elizabeth Tree. He has other bros/sister baptised at Northiam-William(12Jan1794), David(18Nov1796), Mary(10Nov1799)& James(27Nov1803)

Hi Mark,
Unfortunately I think 'idrm' is not rechecking her replies to her original message for more info on Thomas Lawrence.
Although mostly interested in the Trees, I would be interested in any info on the following you have on Thomas Lawrence:
1. His wife's name, marriage date & location
2. His and his wifes parent's names
3. Thomas's childrens names and where were they baptised.
4. Death date & location of Thomas and his wife.
Thanks,Tim
