Hi Hunters................China thought her hunt might have been just a tad toooooooo hard for you all........I have to be honest and say it's the first time there's not been information flowing constantly.........but I don't for one minute thing it's your fault, just the lack of paperwork.
So here's an alternate for you to have a bash at.
Good luck

Okay, I have a couple of other brickwalls that I considered (actually) even harder than George Moore. Your choice of:
1) William Paterson
Or
2) Elizabeth Campbell
Or
3) Francis Jubb
1) Here is the gravestone of William Paterson, my great-grandfather, from Mt Royal Cemetery in Montreal…he was a paper box maker, and immigrated (1901 census) in 1872…see pic.
Who were his parents? I never got his burial record, have just ordered it now, from Mt Royal Cemetery in Montreal. There are a couple of possibles in Dundee, but no proof of any of them emigrating. The only clue to parents, I think, would be Scottish naming patterns.
His children were:
William, b 1880 Montreal
Annie, b 1883 Montreal
Daisy Jessie, b 1885 Montreal
Robert, b 1887 Montreal
Marion, b 1890 Montreal
I can’t find a marriage.
2) Here is his wife, my great-grandmother:
Elizabeth Jane Paterson nee Campbell
Widow of William Paterson
Born: Belfast, Ireland
Died: 19 December 1934
Aged: 82 years
Late residence: 6779 Christophe Colomb Street, Montreal, Quebec
She immigrated (1901 census) in 1873
Their daughter married George Moore’s son Allister…no clue about her parents, or family…
3) My manyXg g’father, Francis Jubb, clothier:
Born Thornhill, WYorks, about 1657 (IGI). Married Ellin Sykes 1682. Had 1st son Joseph in 1682, 5 other children followed, all born in Thornhill-Lees. He died in 1694, buried the 22nd of March.
Where did Francis come from? He does not seem to be from the Thornhill area, as apparently there is no Jubb mentioned there before 1682 (I think it was an Oath then).
I have to be out today but will try to check in from time to time. Many thanks
