I found a letter in the Liverpool Mercury that connects the following threads:
Methodistiaid Corris-Dolgellau
Corris-Quarryman
Richard William/Williams or Richard-lilyj
The letter is written by Griffith Ellis of Bootle, the author mentioned in the first thread, recommending my gg grandfather's son for political office.
He emphasises the the children of my gg grandfather were schooled by the schoolmaster H Ll Jones that Quarryman was looking for in the second thread.
The letter confirms that William Richard was the father of Richard Williams,my gg grandfather, which was what I was enquiring about in the third thread.
In addition it says that both my ggg grandather and gg grandfather were Calvinist Methodist deacons(Apparently they were models of temperence and abstinence, which is a first for my family!)
I gather that the Liverpool Mercury must have been widely distributed in North Wales. I found it on the Gale Group site. There are many N Wales newspapers here and I also found a death notice-in Welsh of course- for my great grandmother. My Welsh vocabulary is greatly expanding
