Well  done  Dee,  oh the excitment  you  must be felling,  I  can hardly  wait  to  see the  letter and gauge Nick Lynch's reaction.

Mind  you  Dee after all  the  work  you  did on  the WDYTUA thread on  Ita Buttrose showed sheer determination and  true grit. ;D ;D ;D

But it shows what you can do if you all work together and keep chipping away......
very  true Dee  everyone  contributes  in  some way  be it big or  small.  It  has been  fun  observing and watching  with avid  interest  ..what comes  next.

Seahall...oh  how  lovely  to  be  out  in  the rain..we have forgotten  again  what  it is  like  in  the far  north  very very  dry  as  I  believe  parts of  the southern states are still  the same. So  jump  in  a few  puddles  for us  please.

Eargerly awaiting  Part  three...  Is  there a  televsion  show  in  there?

regards Jenn

Good morning, Jenn and Sandy, from a very slow and yawning Dee this morning. I did eventually fall asleep, but the minute it started to get light, I was awake as usual.   ::)  ::) Think there is going to be the need for a couple of extra strong cuppas this morning.  ;D

There may indeed be a Part 3 coming up.....once we can talk more to Nick. There is another aspect to the story which he would love to know more about. We'll have to just wait and see on that one.

Wow dee....what progress since I looked in here last.  I need an internet connection in the tractor...but the NextG network is limited to the hills in this area.  Look forward to seeing Part 3.

Weather report - cool and showers....ah the smell of rain on parched mallee soils. :) :)

Cheers to all

I'll bet it was very  hard  for you  to sleep  last  night.. a  strong cuppa  might to  the trick.

It  is allways fullfilling  to  do  lookups  and  find other  information  for fellow Rootschaters  but a  story and  thread  like  this  one  is  so  much more  fun  and  rewarding.  Especially  when  you  see  some  many  getting  involved.

Plus  the  thread  has been  very  harmonious  which  is  so  very  pleasant.

Morning all, well I have awoken to a further email from Derrick (whose mother was Alfred Parrs half sister) and have all his contact details, he is very keen to to have contact with Nick Lynch.
He tells me that Archibald Parr, Alfreds brother survived the war but suffered badly from shell shock, he used to visit him often in hospital. He has been unable to find anything about the other brother John Victor.
Dee, and everbody once again well done. And its raining here too...

Hi Cando,
We have had a little light rain again here overnight, so hope it reaches you again. We'll be thinking of you out on the tractor!  :D  :D

It's a joy to see this thread heading towards such a great conclusion.......

Jan, that's great news about Derrick. Nick was asking how he could get in touch and I told him that once he came on the thread he would be able to exchange personal messages with you, and you would head him in the right direction.

Do you think Derrick would like to join the thread?
