HI All

Can anyone help with information about the gentleman over the water from Plattville please.  :)

It would be good to have some details to add to the relationship prior to the death of his father and beyond.

T.I.A.

There's a tree on Ancestry.com with Henry Matthew in it.  I can get you the details from it, if you'd like.

It says that Henry Matthew was born 26 Jan (no year given) and died 15 Feb 1893.  It says he was married to Martha Elizabeth Van Goodon 20 Oct 1875 in Platteville, Grant Co., Wisconsin.  His parents were listed as George Matthew and Mary M., and he had a son named Joseph William Matthew, born 4 May 1878 in Platteville, Wisconsin and died 13 Feb 1958 in Seney, Iowa.

Joseph was living in Platteville in 1900, in Pilot, Iowa in 1910, in Rock, Iowa per 1915 Iowa State Census, in Lake Co. South Dakota per his WWI Draft Registration Card, and in Badus, Lake Co., South Dakota in 1920.  Joseph's wife was Alice Ervina Gesland, born 8 Apr 1884 in Cherokee, Iowa and died 10 Feb 1964 in Seney, Iowa.  Joseph & Alice were married 8 Apr 1903 in Cherokee, Iowa.  Their children were (1) Effie Lucille Matthew, born 6 May 1904 in Cherokee, Iowa and died 22 Dec 1908 in Cherokee, Iowa, (2), Opal Evelyn Matthew, born 19 Jan 1906 in Cherokee, Iowa, married Oscar Lester Gatzke 8 Apr 1929 in Madison, Lake County, South Dakota, and died 30 May 1982 in Downey, Los Angeles, California, and (3) a living daughter married to Charles Simpson, born 12 Jul 1911 in Madison, South Dakota and died 12 Dec 1980 in
Butte, Silver Bow, Montana, with whom she has one living child.

Hope this helps!
