Griffiths Valuations lookup please- Stevenson - Ballycregeagh
« on: Sunday 04 May 08 06:50 BST (UK) »
Hi, There was a Jane Steenson listed in the Griffiths Valuations for Ballycregeagh, Dunaghy.

Require address if possible, who owned the property.
Also, was this list in 1862 or 1864.

Did not realise that this Jane would have been my ancestor until recently found her death in 1866, when she was a widow.  So, would have been a widow in 1862/1864 as its her name on Griffiths Valuations. Annie

When the Griffiths Valuations were taken a Ordnance Survey Map was taken as well and each plot of land was given a number and noted on the Map.  15a is the number for Jane Steenson. You need to look on Map 23 & 27 for Ballycregeagh an then 15a.

If you live in Northen Ireland you can get these maps and your Local Area Studies Library or the Public Records office in Belfast.  They might be on the internet if you live outside Northern Ireland. Someone else on here might be able to help you with that.

I got onto the Ballymena Library and they are sending me a copy of the Ordinance Survey, hopefully to see where 15a was on the map.
Thank you for your past assistance, Annie
