I had posted earlier in this thread but have done more research since.

What amazes me is that through my Shaw line ( From Slaithewaite/Lingards area of Yorks) and the one who went to NZ we have;

Iris Murdoch,
My Grandmother was her Grandmothers Sister ( yes Iris's Grandmother married in NZ)

Sir Michael .... ( I never promised you a .... garden)
Married a Shaw from the same NZ family but a later generation.

Humble beginnings from Yorks to working in Manchester Cotton Mills to owning Farms in NZ and some interesting descendants later on.

My GGrandmother & Geoffrey Robertsons GGrandmother were sisters,so I guess that makes us 2nd cousins. Might be handy to know a good lawyer one day :o :o :o

I have any number of Tom Jones's....
But otherwise, the only famous person I'm related to is my Mum's only daughter.  ::)  ;D
