Intestate Will 1930's

I was recently searching archives online "National Archives" came accross a Surname of interest, but would like know how to go further with this, took a visit to Kew and got an Image of the Document as attached, which was a Pedigree Chart, various family members of the 1930's. the Main name of Interest which decends lines of my family  is
William Schmalcalder, but from this document it looks as if he Changed it to James Clark,
this is were I am Stumped any Suggestions

It looks like James dying intestate divided the remaining members of the family and caused a court case between James' surviving sister Elizabeth Clark plus her niece Lucy Corgan with James' great nieces Elizabeth Eleanor Binnie and Lucy Lilian Wade, with their other sister Winifred Emma Birchall playing no part. Since Elizabeth and Lucy are the defendents the first thing might be to check whether they took out an administration on the estate. If so you will be able to narrow down which precisely was James death registration in the September quarter of 1931 and thus where he died and the addresses of Elizabeth and Lucy which might help you with deciding which local newspaper may have covered the case (The Times doesn't seem to have, probably not important enough but you might be lucky with a local newspaper). To assess whether a newspaper would have been interested enough you really need to know the size of James' estate. An administration would give you an indication. Unless the estate was of an interesting enough size no newspaper is really going to be interested enough to cover the case.
The will and adminsitration index is held at High Holborn or you could ask for a search. It is also on microfiche (up to 1946) at The National Archives.Order from the address given on this website.

Tracking through newspapers if the case was covered will be easier than trying to pin down court papers but nevertheless Her Majesty's Court Services (website address as for probate) might be able to advise.

I have tried looking for James Clark death details on findyourpast.com
but to no avail. He was born in the Strand in 1857 as William Schmalcalder
I can find him on the 1861 & 1871 Census but after that he disapears until 1892, he appears on a Death Certificate and gives an address as 4 Kemble Street, Strand, this  is were the Reynolds live as for the Clark Family they live at 4 Alma road, Enfield
As for a Big Estate I am not to sure but his Grandad was famous Mathmatical Instrument Maker who invented the Prismatic Compass, most of the Family lived in the area of the Strand.

Would he have died named Clark or Schmalcalder?

There is nothing in the English and Welsh registration for someone with the surname Schmalcalder for the very specific quarter and year the chart gives so I would say his death is registered as Clark. There are a couple it could be since whoever registers the death may not be able to give an exact age.
You have the Thanet death aged 72 and the Islington death aged 76. If there was an administration you would get further details particularly the names and addresses of those administering the estate and the exact date of death of the person.

What was his occupation?

I have nothing to really say of  his occupation the last bit of information I have about him is the 1871 Census under William Smechelder and he was listed as a Scholar there address was St Martins Lane, later there was an address of 4 Kemble Street.

I have Scanned the outside of the Document it has Various Stamps, Dates, I believe one say's Chancery Division theres an address at the bottom which I cannot make out

There is a probate notice in the London Gazette 23 June 1933 for James CLARK late of 97 Pembroke Street, Islington who died 11 Aug 1931 (letters of administration granted to Emily REYNOLDS, Elizabeth CLARK and Lucy CORUM etc.).
