Where have you looked?

I couldn't see him on the post 1983 indexes.

You can view the images of the as yet non-indexed bmd indexes on Ancestry or (as I recently read here) on freebmd.  Can be a bit of a slog, but you've only got 33 years to go through!

Are your family long-lived or short-lived?  Knowing that would help decide whether to start in 1950 or in 1982

Hi Aulus,
Thank you for the reply. Have looked on freebmd, still going through the freebmd lists with different spellings of my surname (Vineall, Vinall, Vinal and Vincall)  in hope I can find him. As to length of life his brother Leonard died aged 53 my father is still going at 89. Hope this helps.
All the best.
Derek

There's a Death for Henry George Vennell in Surrey NW in Jan 1986 but the DOB is 1899 (4 Oct), thats the nearest I can get.

Oops, George doesnt begin with a 'C' does it.  I had a look through the pre 1983 indexes but still nothing but I may have missed other variants.

Hello Derek

You won't fidn him on Free BMD,it is a free site being transcribed by volunteers and is not a complete list.

It is more or less done up to around 1920,but for deaths from 1950 onwards you do need to check out the COMPLETE indexes, either on Find My Past or Ancestry or something like that.

I have just done from 1982 backwards to 1962 for you and not found him.
If I have time I'll carry on back to 1950.

Regards

Carol

Edit- I have now gone right back to 1951 and he's not dead  ;)
I also checked the ships passenger lists, but they only go up to 1960- nothing found.

I've not found May either, looked back to 1950, nothing on overseas. What was the latest record you had on either?

The BMD indexes are complete on Ancestry up to 2005.

1983-2005 is searchable by name.
