Help needed to read census
« on: Saturday 10 May 08 12:41 BST (UK) »
I have an image of my 2Xgt grandmother who was a Prostitute in Shadwell on the 1861 census and I cannot read what the word is under the heading "condition".
Image is RG 9/282.
I'm thinking it is Good but it dosn't look like it.   ???
Any help would be appreciated.
SUE.

I think it's "Unm" (rather than "Mar")

Tati and Shaun.
Yes that would make sense being unmarried.  Louisa had a baby a year later and I never did have any luck finding the chap who was down as childs father. No luck yet with a marriage even though she changed her name to the fathers!!! surname.  Or have yet to find out how she came to be a Prostitute. She came from a seemingly good home.  Apologies I'm going off the subject.
However. Thank you Tati and Shaun for your time.

No Problem Tati.   Love the way 12 Prostitutes living in the same Household and called "Lodgers".
