Titterington and McBride
« on: Friday 16 May 08 23:56 BST (UK) »
I am trying to get any information about my great grandparents James Titterington and his wife Susan McBride.  They were both living in Foundry Street, Belfast in 1912.  I believe that James came from Moira and Susan from the Isle of Man.  Susan was born in 1867 and died in 1938 and James died in 1950.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find evidence of birth, marriage or death which would hopefully lead me to evidence of their parents.

Their children were James Edward, Robert, Joseph, Josephine, Margaret and Janet.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Hi Christopher

They were Church of Ireland I believe.  I know that their son, James Edward and his wife Matilda Moran were married in St Patrick's church, Newtownards.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi Leprechaun  - thank you for your response.  I couldn't find Susan McB on the website link, but may have found her brother.  My James Titterington does not seem to be listed but I am actually trying to prove that he may be the son of the Edward listed there.  Therefore, I need proof of his birth certificate and his marriage to Susan McBride.

Very many thanks again for your help.

Hi Scotmum

Thank you for this response.  I have looked at the site and shall pursue a couple of the leads further.  However, I don't think as yet that there is any proof that James Titterington of Moira, married Susan McBride - in about 1890 give or take a few years.

Thanks again

Hello linjacarsa,

You may need a link to the Manx Registry Office at some stage
