Just wondering if the Kenny family of Ballinrobe was related to Marcella Fitzgerald Kenny of Clogher House near Lough Carra, Co. Mayo. She was the last of the family and died in the mid-60s. I've no connection to the family, just an idle curiosity as I grew up not far from there.

Hello leckavrea,

Two families with large estates and the same surname ... it looks as though they were related ... both guys have a Christian name beginning with F too.

Property owners County Mayo circa 1870
James F. C. Kenny, Clogher House, Ballyglass, Co. Mayo 855 acres.
Stanhope W. F. Kenny, Ballinrobe 598 acres.

The Kenny Family Estate link makes no mention of Clogher House though.

It looks as though there's no connection.
