Samuel Bradshaw

The 1881 Census lists a Samuel Bradshaw (14 yrs born in India) residing with his father (William Bradshaw born in Ireland) & stepmother at Govan, Lanark, Scotland. I am unable to find out what became of Samuel and/or who was his birth mother. I have checked the 1891 & 1901 Census as well as marriages and deaths in an appropriate time period without success.
Any ideas?

I am not sure if you have tried this... but it is possible to get birth records from the GRO for children born abroad... and India is certainly covered by that... it is likely that Samuels mother died in India as well... looking at the 1881 census it is also likely that you may find military records for William as he is listed as a Chelsea Pensioner...

Sorry I cannot help you more... but do let us know how you get on, its an interesting one... :D

Best wishes
