One more charge and then be dumb,

Dear Sue,
Thanks, the replies are appearing faster than I can type!!

THAT JOHN SPRIGGS looks interesting because his father Walter G. Spriggs and many of the Spriggs generations were born in Nothamptonshire.

BUT how do we KNOW if its HIM.  No wife, date of birth, or parents listed!!!

Perhaps I' ll never find him? :(
Thanks again,
Fenetta

Dear Scrimnet,

Could that be HIM, I don't know.  Only know I can't verify a record of his death, whether in WW1 or otherwise.  Maybe he didn't die in the war as we were told, but what then?? ???

Thanks for your prompt and interesting reply,
Fenetta

BTW

Sue's chap was probably in the 1/3rd  Battalion...the figure 3 at the beginning...Usually meant 3rd Bn...

He may well feature in the Northampton Independent list...That will give a photo and some details...

As an addenda...
There is also another Spriggs for you in the National Roll a Royal Navy chap from Daventry...

This may be useful...He has copied, or has access to all the WW1 pics from the Shire...

A bit expensive for what it is, but saves a trip to Wooton Hall!
