I have a Susannah Dawson in my tree, but that is her married name, i would to know if anyone can help me find her maiden name. She was born 1785 in Whickham, Gateshead, she married William Dawson and Ralph Barrass. Gail

Did she marry the Barrass before or after the Dawson?

I am not sure which she married first, she had 6 children with William Dawson and none with Ralph Barrass.

Susannah Dawson married Ralph Barras in Bishopwearmouth 21 Nov 1834.

No Susannah marrying any William Dawson from 1813-1834 in Co. Durham that I could see from my index.  There was a Sarah though. I will check in Northumberland when I am home.  given she was born in 1785 her first marriage may have been before 1813.  I don't have an index for that--only separate parish records that are not indexed.

Who were the 6 children and where/when were they born?  That may give a clue expecially if born between 1798 and 1812.

Her children were Thomas 1810 Chester le Street, Ann 1812 Tynemouth, Susannah 1814 Lamesley, Durham, Esther 1826 Earsdon, John 1826 Earsdon and Elizabeth 1832 Earsdon she was my g g grandma.

hi just had a look at parish records for tynemouth 1812

Ann Dawson born july 7th, baptised aug 2nd,  1st daughter of Wm Dawson Murton pitman of Chester P by his wife Susanna Humble gateshead.
