Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me. :) I'm looking for gravestone inscriptions for Bute, from about 1860 to 1880, specifically Rothesay. Are the records available in published booklets, or on any websites? The name I'm searching for is Cameron.

Thank you,

And the first names are?

I'll see what I can find.

Oops - sorry Nell, I forgot to post them.  :-[ John Cameron, 1874 and his wife, Elizabeth (nee Neil), died 1864, both in Rothesay.

Memorial inscription on a flat stone:

John Cameron 31 July 1874, wife Elizabeth Neil 11 Nov 1864, son John 25 Jun 1835, by son Matthew 19 April 1894 aged 73 (son John 22 Nov 1855 aged 8 years, David 24 Mar 1865 aged 9 weeks, son John 12 Jun 1885 aged 27, wife Jane Chambers 8 July 1893 aged 69)

Looks like the whole family!

Oh, that is wonderful, Nell!! Thank you so much! ;D Do you know when the inscriptions were recorded? Just hoping the stone is still intact, as I hope to visit one day. :)

Can I ask if there is anything for the name Dunlop (Peter and wife, Margaret Cameron) and possibly also Robert Clark (and wife, Agnes Cameron)?

I can't see anything for Robert Clark and his wife - sorry.

Peter Dunlop 23 May 1860 aged 43, by his wife Margaret Cameron 13 Nov 1891 aged 77, daughter Jane 30 Jan 1850 aged 3 years, son Peter 11 May 1851 aged 8 years, daughter Jeanie 29 Oct 1866 aged 8 1/2, daughter Elizabeth 4 Jun 1883, son Peter 30 Jun 1883.

I think this was recorded over twenty years ago.
