Hi

I have found a death for a Benjamin P Ripley in the York District Oct/Dec 1927 aged 59 - Vol 9d Page 50

This would make his birth year 1868 not 1872 but it is an unusual name.

Well done, Gill - I couldn't find him at all!!  :-[

I wonder if he was away from home for the 1901 census? Possibly his name was entered as Benjamin Parkinson?

Another thought - probably way wide of the mark - but I notice he was a groom. Is it possible that he was serving in the Boer War - horses played a big part in warfare at that time.  ???

HELP!!!

 BATHSHEBA BOOTHROYD bn c. 1802 W. Yorks.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.

Many thanks.  The Boer War was a thought so I checked the service records for the Imperial Yeomanry and found that he didn't serve with them.
