Hi Lucia

1851 Census (from the index)

Stopsley HO 107/1757/184 Luton Ed 3 Folios 388-413

James Waller 30 Hrt 392
Emma Waller 22 Hrt 392

John Waller 59 Hrt 394
Elizabeth Waller 62 Hrt 394
Frederic Waller 22 Hrt 394
Henery Waller 14 Hrt 394

Charlotte Waller 21 LUT 411
Edmund Waller 19 Hrt 411

I didn't have time to check the census itself only the index but on checking the IGI Walter James Waller was c 13.7.1851 at St Mary, Luton son of James & Emma Waller. The census was taken on the 30th March 1851.

The IGI has: James Waller married Emma Davis 29.7.1848 Lilley, Hrts. The others above also appear to be from Lilley so could all be family members.

The 1851 census itself should confirm that they came from Lilley. Perhaps someone else will be able to check this for you.

Regards

criggy

Hi Pauline, Thank you very much for your help. The information looks really interesting. I suppose Joseph could be somewhere else although he married 1862 in Luton. His birthplace was recorded as penslipend. Do you know where that is? I also wondered if you knew where Pepperstock was as this was Edward's birthplace.
Thank you
Lucia

Lucia,

For unknown towns try www.old-maps.co.uk .
Somethings tells me that there is a Pepperstock (or something that sounds like it) in Oxfordshire.

Hi Lucia,
I noticed that you put a post up about someone called FENSOME from Luton and I wonder if you could help me?
This is a long shot but is there any connection to a Thomas FENSOME b circa 1832 in Astwood ,Bucks?
His 1st wife may have been called Harriet and he seems to have remarried ,in 1894 to an Ann TIMMS.
Do you have any record of him and his second wife Ann?
Many thanks,
Trisha
