Restore Mamgu please
« on: Tuesday 27 May 08 11:37 BST (UK) »
Hi all,
This is the only photo of my husbands Grt Mamgu that the family have ever seen, would it be possible to make her a little clearer for us all to have a good look at. She was born in Cardigan in 1850  & was a stocking knitter. She moved to Ynysybwl in the Welsh Valleys & could never speak a word of English. She wanted to learn how to say "Hello, how are you?", so her grandchildren tought her rude sayings to say & told her they were teaching her to say " hello, how are you ". I dont think I would have risked doing that by the look of her!!!
Thanks
Jan

Hi Jan  :)

I've had a good look at it and, although it's at 300dpi, I think it's got a high compression factor - which is why you're getting the checkerboard effect.

Is it possible for you to re-scan and save it without any compression and send it to me again and I'll replace the first image.

Hi Gadget, what does that mean in english??????

As I told you, not too hot on the computer, took quite a few attempts when I started puting photos on this website, but got there in the end.

"re-scan & save without any compression" any clues for an idiot on the computer???
Thanks
Jan
