Ellen Howells
« on: Wednesday 28 May 08 16:28 BST (UK) »
Hi.
I'm trying to find out who was the mother of Ellen Howells.
The 1891 census show's as follows;
13 Pontycapel rd
Cefn coed,
Merthyr,
David Howells 40, Puddler Cefn Coed
Elizabeth Howells, wife 46 Brecon, Builth,
David, Son, 17, coal miner, Cefn Coed,
William 15,         do                 do
Rchard 14           do                   do
ELLEN  12                                 do
Bejamin 11                                  do
Thomas  10                                  do
SARAH HOWELLS 9                       do
John R 6                                       do
George 5                                     do
Esther 3                                      do

The family search 1881 shows David as born 1851 cefn Coed,
married to Mary Ann Field, born1854, also Cefn Coed, married 1873
the children are listed as.
David 1874
William 76
Richard 78
Benlamin 79
Thomas 81
Esther 1888 died 1963 Caernarfon.

Sarah was in fact shown on her marriage certificate as Sarah Hughes and her father as William Hughes (deceased), also on 1901 census as Sarah Hughes step daughter, born Builth.

could Ellen also be the daughter of William and Elizabeth as she is not listed on family search 1881?
I have not found a marriage for william and Elizabeth, or a death for William, any help with this would be much appreciated.

Hi again.
I have found a letter addressed to my mother-in-law dated 1952 from Eleanor Lupiccini who lived in Toronto Canada, who signed herself as Aunty Nelly.
Eleanor was the sister of Sarah Hughes (My mother-in-laws mother). is it possible that Ellen and eleanor were the same person? and that she could be on the 1901 census as Eleanor Howells, (or Hughes)?
Sarah married Albert Slater C1906
