Help to Find Ancestry

If anyone is into the Gooch family line, I would be interested to know as I have only got as far as my
Grandfather and trying to find his Father is driving me insane.Any help would be greatfully received.

You could also give us what details you have about your grandfather - name, dates, siblings, places etc - and we'll see what we can find for you   ;D

Many thanks MUM44 . Edward Gooch. Born Northumberland Abt 1871-1875. Fathers name Alfred.
Was in Army Regt the Buffs 1896 met My Grandmother May Filmer married 3.1.1896.Had 5 boys. I
know his Fathers Name was Alfred as was on marr.cert. He also did 1 years territorial army 1915-1916. I not know his siblings but I thought I had located him in Lewisham but had incorrect mothers name, now unknown. Does this help?   Edward married in Maidstone Kent and died there.

The Lewisham Edward GOOCH is the only one with a father called Alfred. 

How do you know his mother was not Sarah?

Hi Bearcat.  I sent for Edwards birth certificate showing his mothers name as Sarah, but GRO
returned saying wrong name of Sarah.

Perhaps Alfred had been widowed and then remarried by the 1881 census. ???

I'll look for him in 1871...
