1861 looks interesting:

plus two lodgers


So she took maybe 10 years from her age

I did notice that Robert said that her age varied slightly

The Fife sense of humour seems to be on overdrive tonight   

Must be because it's the last week of Spring over there

As I think I mentioned elsewhere today - my g gran lost 10 years between 1841 and 1881 - mainly because she married a younger man. Every 10 years their ages got closer together 

This is probably a similar situation

I've known a few Fifers in my time 

Forgot to mention that Hugh Marr was a steam vessel engineer  (from Mary's death cert, 1885) 

The IGI (extracted) only have two children of this marriage - others are submitted. So off to SP again

My Kirkcudbright lot did it all the time - the only time I found their correct ages were via bpts and deaths 

They all lived to ripe old ages if they survived childhood 

Trish - we are of a similar age, so let me know how old it is

My Irish great great grandmother took up with her, younger, brother-in -law after my gggrandfather died. She lost 10 years between census returns and never put them back!
