I am looking for the 1st marriage of William Kilroy from Aghamore Co. Mayo. He left around 1824 with Margaret Cunniff and they married in 1828 in Paddington. He is noted of the marriage cert as a widower. He was born about 1785 and she born about 1811.

I am a complete Newbie when it comes to searching Irish records so haven't a clue where to start

Barry
James, Farr in Cornwall and all the others on my website

Civil registration of catholic marriages in Ireland began 1864 (from 1845 for other marriages). For earlier dates you need to look at church records (of they exist). To do so you need to know the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland).
LDS have some Irish church records on microfilm. Check catalogue online at www.familysearch.org. The microfilms can be ordered from your local LDS library for a small fee to be viewed there.
