Not sure how to go about finding ancestors/family of Sylvia Margaret Jeffree of Guildford, England who in 1951 married Ian Herdman Taylor - maternal cousin.  Ian was born in Ardrossan, Scotland and was with the Royal Navy. Anyone suggest a way forward?

As you don't say whether this person is still living I have PMed the birth registration details of a possible match.  You can order a copy of the birth certificate from:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

which will tell you the names of her parents.

There is someone on GenesReunited who has a possible match in their tree.

Whilst searching for my own family history I stumbled upon your post here. I'm Adam Iain Laird Taylor, grandson of Ian Herdman Taylor and Sylvia Margaret Jeffree. Sylvia is still living.

My fathers name is Iain Herdman Laird Taylor (b. 1952).
