Completed : William Jobson Bp. in 1812 - where
« on: Tuesday 17 June 08 16:41 BST (UK) »
Hello

In various census's my ancestor William Jobson is fairly consistant in his view that he was born at Hartburn in about 1812.  I failed to find a baptism there,  but did find a suitable candidate  baptised at Meldon in Mar 1812.
Has anyone any better ideas ? - or are Meldon PR's my next place to search. ?

His wife Sarah Smith also seems convinced she was born in Hartburn - but in 1807.   Again - no sign of her there.  Yet again - has anyone any ideas.

Thanks

Hello

I have been remiss in not updating the findings of a trip to Northumberland Archives a couple of weeks ago.
I checked out the baptism of William Jobson at Meldon;  and I am sure that this is my man.  His father was given as Robert Jobson, labourer of Howlet Hall,  and his mother was Mary (nee Brown).
Howlet Hall appears to be in the parish of Hartburn,  although Melton church was nearer.

Thanks to all who replied.
