1930's railway query Skipton/Colne
« on: Friday 21 January 05 23:33 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace the surname of a man in the early 1930s who was a signal box operator in the Skipton or Colne area. His first name was Wilfred. He later became a councillor either in Skipton or Colne. His wife's name was May (nee Arnold).http://
Thank you,

Have you tried the Lancashire BMD site?  Not sure if the time/area you want is covered but:

Hi Marnold
have you tried this site http://www.railwayancestors.fsnet.co.uk/
you have to pay a membership fee to join but it may be of help finding your man and perhaps some of his relations. It was quite common (and still is) to find many generations of the same family working on the railway. I work on the railway and off the top of my head can think of eight colleagues who have fathers, grand fathers, uncles etc working/worked on the railway.
