From information given to me today by a new Carey/Badcock contact it was appear that Mary was a completely different Mary born to Thomas and Elizabeth Marchant 1744 which fits with the burial.  Also large clue is the witness on the marriage certificate Richard Marchant.  Worth pursuing I think.
