James Holmes or Holms
« on: Saturday 05 July 08 13:33 BST (UK) »
Hi, haven't been here for a while but I don't know if any of you remember me searching for the parents of a Rose/Roeanna Bellamy?

I managed to find a birth entry and think this was hers. I sent off for her birth certificate and there was noentry for a father but her name was listed as 'Roseanna Holmes'; mother Sarah Bellamy and place of residence Coningsby.

Someone on here found me a marriage entry for Roseanna and her husband James R Woods. I sent off for this certificate and the bride's father's name is listed as 'James Holmes'. She has listed her name as Roseanna Bellamy Holms. The father's occupation is either farmer or fireman, can't quite work out which.

The only other thing I know about the father is that by November 7th 1866, the date of marriage he is deceased.

I would appreciate some help in trying to find James. Because Sarah was living in Coningsby and heralds from Billinghay I would imagine that James is probably from around here too. I also think they had another child, Emma because I've found a birth entry for an Emma Holmes Bellamy (according to the 1851 Census their ios also a daughter, Emma , born Boston in 1844 which matches the birth entry). Possibly a third daughter, Susan born 1842/3 in Billinghay. Can't find a birth entry for this.

Thanks in advance for your help.
