« on: Tuesday 08 July 08 12:29 BST (UK) »

This week it's Nanny Jan's Second Chance Scavenger hunt and she's gone for something totally different.  Hopefully you'll be able to fill in the gaps for her, I know you'll give it your best shot.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Barbara

                              ************************

As Wimbledon is on I decided to let you have a go at my Henman line!

William Henman married Sophia Rose 16 January 1830  Maidstone All Saints, Kent given as the parish.

Found children:

William           bc 1832
Sophia           bc 1834      bpt 17 July 1834  Honey Lane Baptist, Tenterden
Elizabeth       bc  1836     bpt 6 Apr 1836           "             "               "
Charlotte       b 15 April 1838                Tenterden
Henry            bc  1840

Have the family on 1841 census. All born Kent

William died, no d. cert yet,  as Sophia marries (as widow) William Beale, 9 November 1847 at Tenterden.

1851 census William & Sophia Beale in Tenterden with
                      William  18
                      Elizabeth  14
Charlotte 12      (all shown as "in laws")

1851  Sophia (jnr) and Henry not found yet

1853 Sophia (jnr) married Levi Parks in Tenterden

1857 Charlotte  married Edward Rayner/Rainer in Ruckinge

My line is from Charlotte and Edward and I have them on all census plus their death certs.

I have William & Sophia Beale 1861/71.   William shown as W on 1881 and 1901.

Levi & Sophia Parks I have all census; have found 5 children so far:

Henman Levi         bc 1855
Isabel Amelia        bc  1860
Frederick William   bc  1862
George Edward     bc  1867
Albert Henry          bc 1872

William(jnr) possibly married Catharine Eleanor Austin/Austen (1856) at Tenterden but have not got the cert.

Would like to find out about William(jnr), Elizabeth and Henry  Henman.  If there's time any details on Charlotte & Edward's children (13 of them!)

Charlotte is my 2xgt.grandma.

Here's the Rayner/Rainer family:

Elizabeth Ann         bc  1858    Warehorne, Kent

I can find William's wife K(C)atherine HENMAN in 1871, living in Bennenden with her mother and brother George, and a Charles DAUSTER, widowed lodger.

Daughter K(C)atherine HENMAN is in service in 1871, in Sandhurst Kent, with Charles Humphrey WELD and wife Maud WELD.

Still looking for William tho..
