Does anyone know anything about this site ?
http://www.familyrelatives.org/

I saw an advertisement for it in 'Your Family Tree' magazine issue 20.

Just wondering if it is using FreeBMD data, or it's own transcriptions...

It *Must* be using a commercial transcription, because it refers to data after 1910.

I would suspect that after that date, the indexes are well-enough typed/printed to use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to search, just like the searches on historicaldirectories.

They may not need to use human transcribers at all for later years.

They weren't working yesterday then I got an email today saying the site had gone live. However, I've just tried to buy credits and that is not working either!!

If you are searching the years 1866 to 1920 then it is fully transcribed and full name searchable - unlike freebmd which is not complete and 1837 which allows you to search by a full name, but doesn't guarantee that they will be on the page.
