   Thanks Trica, Richards age is out a bit but that is the family,the daughter Margaret married a lewis wWilliams 13aug 1858,at St Johns Aberdare but can`t find his death as yet,, I see that Margaret had a child but he is not with them on the1881 census, but I`m sure we will find him,  sometime, thanks again Marg,,

I couldn't find a 'stray' Lewis Williams who was either married or single and a butcher on the 1871 census.  There are far too many to check all the others.

I am wondering if he left her and started another family with someone else

   Hi!, Yes thats quite possible, I see it strange though, her sister  ANN SMITH on the 1881 is also married but down as widow, can`t find her marriage and did she have children? could you find the 1891/1901 for me just to see what is about then,  Thanks Marg,,
