I know so very little of the intricacies of the British Army WW1, you may think this a very stupid question, but is there a difference between a Service Battn and the Labour Corps?
I have two MacKenzie relatives, Charles Henry and David, Regimental numbers 7378 and 7376, who I have now found listed as being firstly in the Middlesex Regiment, then the Royal Fusiliers (1st Service Battn). Both were discharged in 1917, no longer physically fit for war service.
I'd like to find out more, but don't want to embark on any more Wild Goose chases, having previously been told that they were in the Black Watch!
