HALE, East Hanney
« on: Monday 14 July 08 22:17 BST (UK) »
Electoral register look ups? If anyone can do such a thing I would be v grateful to know if there is a HALE Harry in East Hanney c1914-1920 - although, on reflection, he would have left his family at home when he was away in WW1. Anyway, please would someone tell me where I could look up East Hanney Electoral registers? Berks Records Office? A library? I assume that there were no elections during WW1 so maybe no up to date info collected at that time?

I'd be glad if someone would give me a little education on this period or recommend a source.

Thanks to all, yours in hope

Pat Williamson

Hi

All electoral registers are searchable by full  address only.  To search just by an area over such a long period would be a very time consuming task
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Berks electoral registers are held by the Berkshire RO. East Hanney is small enough for a search to be a short task.

Hurrah, I thought that might be the case. I will give it a go next week.  My thanks to you.
