It's possible.
I've just found a marriage entry for Mary Matilda Sceats, the other witness. June Quarter 1842 Chippenham, Wiltshire to a William May. I'll have to send off for the certificate to find the connection.
I'm struggling to keep up with you here!

Just Tried Chippenham 1851 No Go im afraid and for Wiltshire I need to know where to look There is one that sort of caught my eye as a possible....doesnt really seem to connect diff place of birth as well...She is the only May in Chippenham.....Will send her in case she connects....Perhaps they had moved by then
