Anyone in Perth going Battye?
« on: Wednesday 16 July 08 00:04 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm wondering if there is anyone going to the Battye Library sometime who could do a lookup for me.

I'm after details on the ship "Lady Amherst," arrived Fremantle 19/2/1857.  There were only 24 passengers, and a lot of them would have been my 2nd great grandmother Ruth TAYLOR and her siblings and families.

This is what I have from the Ship's Index 1829-1890 microfiche:
CSR [not sure what that means] 2[?]41/866 [I'm not sure about the 2 - hard to decipher]
CSR 389/79
?? 25/2/1857

And I have found these references from an archived DPS-CHAT message:
Perth Gazette 20/2/1857 Inquirer 25/2/1857 Perth Gazette 6/3/1857 p2 (L) WA SRO
Acc 36/441/8 (L).

Thanks
Shelley
