Hi,

Is there anyone who has access to Grantham parish records that could do a marriage look-up for me please?

I  have found a marriage record for a Rebecca Ward in the september quarter of 1887. I would like to know which of the men she married.

Any help would be truly appreciated.

Assuming she was the Rebecca WARD from Sheffield, I think she married Henry LOCKTON.

In 1891 she was visiting John L HUBBARD and family at 4 Bluegate, Grantham.

EDIT: Removed some stuff that was wrong  ::)

Thank you for your help.

I have found that Rebecca on the 1891 census, but unfortunately I can't seem to find Rebeeca or Henry on the 1901 census.

I have found a Harry Lockton on the 1891 staying with a family in Yorkshire, but again I can't find him on the 1901 census.

Hi GeoffE,

I think that it is very likely.

I haven't found another Rebecca Lockton on the census records, who was the same age .

I think that Rebecca and Henry had a daughter Emma, born Sheffield. Emma is still living with Hubbard family on the 1901 census. But I just can't seem to find Rebecca or Henry (Harry).

Can you spot Harry's mother (Martha) in 1891?  She didn't die till 1893.

Yes Martha (or Wartha  ::)) is still with George Wright.

I have tried to find Rebecca by just searching the 1901 using her first name only, but I can't seem to find anything obvious.  :(

Emma (daughter) was born in 1890, so should be somewhere in 1891 - perhaps with her dad?

Births Sep 1890   
LOCKTON    Emma        Sheffield    9c   511

EDIT:  Oh, she's the one with Rebecca ... age is 10 *months*.  I must try and keep up with things  ;D

Yes Emma is with Rebecca on the 1891 census. Henry is on the 1891 census as Harry Lockton.

I've tried searching the 1901 for Harry, using just first name. But I can't find nothing obvious. I can't understand why i can't find the.  :(
