I'm wondering about the marriage records in the Bishops' transcripts at FamilySearch. If they were transcripts, why are there signatures of the relevant parties in the marriage records?

The transcripts are complete written copies of the register, including the signatures, held at the church, made by the priest or one of the church officials.
