Joseph Lucas was born circa 1819/1820, most likely in Trowbridge to parents Robert Lucas and Jane Moon. I have not located an exact birth or baptism date for him, but I am specifically trying to find a marriage for him. Joseph came to South Australia with his parents and siblings, arriving 14.12.1840 on the ship "Fairfield", but may have returned to Wiltshire at some point as his sister Harriet was married there on 24.4.1845 in Trowbridge to Benjamin Henry Pittman. Harriet and Benjamin were back in South Australia by 1846 for the birth of their first child, but it is unknown whether Joseph returned with them or may have stayed in Wiltshire.
Joseph's parents were married 23.9.1819 in Trowbridge. His siblings were Harriet (b 25.5.1822 Trowbridge - details of descendents known), Jane (b 1825 Trowbridge - details of descendents known), Mary (b.c. 1827 - details of descendents known), Robert (b 8.5.1833 Studley Green - details of descendents known), possible daughter (no information available), Elizabeth (b 1841 Adelaide, South Australia, died aged 6 in 1847) and Martha (b 22.3.1845 Nth Adelaide - details of descendents known).
