New York Passenger lists
« on: Monday 24 January 05 18:39 GMT (UK) »
Can someone please find Anthony (Antonie) Mutton on these lists for me. He was in the USA after 1870 (I believe) but before the 1880 US census.

Thanks
Fizzy

Hi Fizzy
The only reference that I find that comes close is as follows:

Antonie MUTTON arrived New York from Liverpool on 24 June 1868, Ship Name: Nebraska.

Age: 30, born Germany

Hi, I am new here. Can you search New York Passenger lists for these names of one family?

Folkmann, Christian, or Carl (He may have spelled it Volckmann or Volckmand)
Delker, Wilhelmina or Helene (or maybe listed as Folkmann if married)
Folkmann, Mary or Minnie, a daughter

They arrived in the U.S., probably from Bremmen between 1852 and 1854

Hi Goggy
I found several "possibles" for Carl/Christian.
Do you know his age/place of birth?

This looks good! His date of birth, as close as we can tell, was Nov of 1827 in Lippe Detmold, Germany. Now, he claims he is Danish in the US census, so this may not be accurate. Wilhelmina claims to have been born in Lemgo, Germany on Aug 11, 1832. Their daughter Minnie or Mary was born 28 Sep 1852 either in Germany or perhaps in the US if they had already arrived in America. Does this help?

Hi Len
Not too excited by these,  :( but:

VOLCKMANN, Chr. age 48, to USA in 1857
Chr. age 61 to USA in 1882
                      C. age 32 to USA in 1854

no matches for VOLCKMAND
no matches for FOLKMAND

VOLCKMANN, C, born 1827, arrived NY in Oct 1851.

VOLKMANN, C, born 1829, to USA in 1851.

FOLKMANN, Carl, age 19, to USA in 1856.

All were male, most born Germany. Did not find any reference to Wilhelmina/Helene DECKER or married name, nor to Mary/Minnie.

If any of the above, are of interest, I can provide some more detail.

Yes, it is a bit discouraging!
The only possibility would be C. Volckmann who arrived in Oct 1851, born in 1827. Any more details?

By the way, the wife's maiden name was DELKER not DECKER - see my earlier post

Hi Goggy
Pardon the typo. I knew it was Delker...oops.

Arriving on the ship "Hermann"
24 October 1851 to NY
Port of Departure: Bremen and Southampton

VOLCKMANN, C, male, 24, Merchant.

Wish I could help more.
