After ordering a cert I always try not to be too anxious waiting for it to arrive.  But it's hopeless.  I always am.  And there's always a thrill when the envelope appears.

The last one I did a couple of weeks age, I had narrowed it down and specified a father's name for the birth record.  so when my envelope came, (it was a register office not the gro I had applied to) I opened it and before I got anything out I checked it was a cert.   Knew then that I had the right one!!!!!  Same father's name, same occupation, same address as the census, same mother's first name. So now I had the mother's maiden name.  Yes!!

Only the like minded will appreciate how good that is  ;D ;D ;D
