« on: Friday 25 July 08 16:33 BST (UK) »
 :)

I'm looking for ny information on the Cudworth Armstrongs descended from Henry Armstrong (1859)  and Jane partridge (1861).  I quite a bit of information, but would like more up to ate information from any family members that may come in to roots.

I am the great granddaughter of Fanny Armstrong daughter of the above.

I understand that the family or part of it are still in the Cudworth area.

thank you.

No, thank you I am actually after anyone who is descended from them as I want some information on Doris Armstrong in particular - as we can not find her date of birth.  We thought it was 1904 but have a photo of her and she is too young on it.  Her mother's maiden name was Partridge so a birth with that maiden name is what I am after.

Thanks

Hi Lynne,
Lots of people on RootsChat are willing to help and some might have the resources if they are given the information, even though they may not be related.
I'm not sure if I have got this right, but if Doris is the sister of Fanny what is Fanny's DoB ?
Jane Armstrong nee Partridge would have been 43 in 1904, if she is the mother then she would be towards the back end of her child bearing years ? How much younger does the Doris in the photo look ?

Ive had a look on freebmd and this is the only one born between 1901 - 1920 in Barnsley

Doris Mabel Armstrong
Q2 1907
9 c 201

mothers maiden names weren't listed until later than this, so the only way to find out if this is her is to get the birth certificate.

Hi all

Thanks for the information.  I have all information on the other siblings and have been chatting to people in chat room.

My gran fanny was born in 1883 so was a great deal older than her sister Doris as she was born in 1904 or so we thought could be as late as 1908.  Doris was born in Portobell, Willenhall staffordshire like her three brothers above her.  The family moved back down to willenhall after the 1901 census - roll on 1911 census to solve my problems.

Jane APrtridge the mother died in 1920.

Is this the Armstrong family who live opposite me?

Geoff or Jeff Armstrong is my neighbour opposite and from what he tells me, his family have lived in Low Cudworth for a good few generations.
