like you i can`t find any streatch/stretch in donegal, it seems to be an english name so i will keep hunting.

regards margaret

ps i have searched for charles mcginlay on scotlandspeople and still can`t find his death was the name spelt different.

I am interested in AY spelling of McGinlay from Donegal to the Partick area of Glasgow. I have a marriage between William McGinlay and a Sarah McLauchlin in Saint Patricks, Hill Street, Anderston, Glasgow in 1855. Both parties stated they were from County Donegal.
Part of this family is a Charles McGinlay born in Glasgow married to an Agnes Strachan. Their son Charles McGinlay was killed in WW1. Any connection?
