Hi,

I may be breaking a brick wall, but need some advice as to where this place could possibly be, and am hoping someone with local knowledge might know!!

In 1901 (RG13/206/99/31) there is a Catherine F Lawrence born Balham, Herts, as a servant in Stoke Newington, London. I've looked, but can't find a Balham in Herts, or another suitable alternative.

All suggestions greatly received!!!

I reckon she was born Balham S London and moved north.

Both my cousin and I wondered if it was supposed to be London, but if definately looks like Herts. She married in Hants, and ended up in Wilts!!
