I know people swear by A*****ry, but I've never had any useful results whenever I've had one of their 14-day free trials.  I recently registered for another of these (advertised, as it happens, on this site).  I inputted a name, whereupon it brought up a number of results.  Against each one was a logo of a padlock, and it said I had to subscribe to see the results.  It may be their idea of a free trial, but it isn't mine.

Luas, you need to register with the site and give them your credit card details before you can access the free trial. You will then have access to all their records.

You MUST cancel the free trial before the 14 days is up, otherwise they will charge you the annual fee.

You are, in theory, only allowed one free 14 day trial per person, so if you've already had one, this may explain the padlocks.

Australian or Canadians records or many others.

That's because the free trial is for the UK membership package, which gives access to UK records.  If you want to see records from abroad, then you need the World membership package, which is considerably more expensive.

You have to keep a sense of humour don't you.  The trouble is they know how desperate we are to find that missing ancestor and will pay anything and as long as that lasts they will keep charging. 

If we go into recession I wonder if that will change
