Jersey death + Marriage
« on: Saturday 02 August 08 14:57 BST (UK) »
Would it be possible for someone to look up a couple of things for me.

The 1st is a death for Charles Thomas Wyatt somewhere between July 1844 and and 1849, also the death of his son David wyatt between 1841 and 1851.

The 2nd is for a marriage between Charles Wyatts widow Sarah Wyatt nee Nicholls (Nicolls) to a John George Harris c1848-1849.

I'm afraid I don't know which parish.

Many thanks

Hi Angie

I can see an index entry for the death of Charles Thomas Wyatt in St Saviour, August 1842 to March 1851 on page 15. He died on 28th(?) May 1844 from "consomption". Mary Haggie reported the death.

Finding an index entry for David has not proved totally successful. The only entry I can see is for David John Wayatt. As I was near the Registry Office I thought I would call in and take a look at the certificate.

David John Wayatt died in St Saviour on 14th (I think) November 1843, aged 6 years from "toux convulsive" The death was reported by Sarah Nicholls from Georgetown. Coincidence?? The index entry is:

St Saviour Deaths, August 1842 to March 1851 on page 11.

A first check of the marriage did not show up a marriage for JGH so I will search again in the next day or two.

Hi Stewart

Once again many thanks for your time and effort.

You were kind enough to look for a marriage and a baptism for me a few months ago, this new search you have done is related to the same line of the family, and makes things a little more clearer for me now.

Take care

Angie

Hi Angie

I've now managed to find a marriage for John Harris.

It took place in St Helier Church and is listed in May 1845 to Nov 1847 on page 176. There is a Sarah Wyatt on the same page.
