Do you know where they were living in 1851? The census could narrow down the dates of marriage  for you and possibly the location.

The only marriage I can find for a John Blake to a Mary Ann at this time is in Strand, London

Mary Ann Clarke
2Q 1852 District:Strand (1837-1913) London, Middlesex Vol: 1b  Pg: 550

John Blake
2Q 1852 District:Strand (1837-1913) London, Middlesex Vol: 1b  Pg: 550

If you ordered a birth certificate for one of the children you know belong to your family you would get the mother's surname, which would help you find a marriage certificate

Elizabeth Blake 4Q 1854 Morpeth Durham, Northumberland Vol: 10b Pg: 206

Found it at last, a tollbridge marriage six months after the baptism of their first child. ;D. very sneaky!
