Grave Search if anyone can help - Watford
« on: Saturday 09 August 08 19:03 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone ,

I'm looking for a really big favour as i did with my Grandmother that someone was kind enough to help me with ,

I made a promise to my dad that i would always take him back to his home town when he died , i did  this but didn't find out where his mother was laid to rest  in time  so had to scatter his ashes elsewhere.

Now what I'm trying to do now is do the same for my mum , she asked me the other day if i would take her to where her dad is laid to rest now the problem being is she was only 14 yrs of age when he died and doesn't remember which cemetery  he was buried in, in Watford  , so i thought i would take my chances to see if some who lived local in Watford could have a look  for me, these are his details

Harry Victor Green b 1906 d 1958 , his wife who's name could be one the grave stone is Gladys Irene and possibly mums name Maureen . They lived in Vicarage  Road.

I know its a long shot but i thought id give it a try .....

Thankyou for taking the time to read my thread

Chelle xx

Hello,

If they lived in vicarage road it is most likely they are buried at the vicarage Road cemetry.  It is the oldest cemetery in Watford.  The only other is North Watford Cemetry.  They are both run by the same people and can be contacted on 01923 672157 i have spoken to the woman there several times when doing my own research, and they have a computerised record system they can look at over the phone for you for both sites.

If you find out which cemetery it is and a plot i can take a picture for you if you like?

Hello,  if cremated in Watford the only place it would be is West Herts Crematorium opened around 1960?? My nan was cremated their in August and they are really helpful and found 4 other family members there.  Give them a call and they will tell you straight away.

Hi, Have you solve this yet?

It may be useful to phone Ruislip crematorium as they would be an easy choice for cremation from Watford Area before their own crematorium opened.  :)

Hi Wortle

Gee what a search ive been having , seems the information mum had given me was wrong , her father died in 1965 , under Harrow and Ruislip , in very much need now of finding if he was buried as mum is very poorly and dosent have much time left , and if he is buried would very much like her to lay with her father ...
Will ring Ruislip , as well as Vicarage Rd Cem to see if anyone can help me
