Debenham parish c.1700 LU - JENNINGS/MANN
« on: Sunday 10 August 08 04:01 BST (UK) »
I'd appreciate any help in finding the parents/ancestors of Elizabeth Jennings born c. 1706 Debenham, baptised Elmswell 12/8/1706 and married John Mann 28/1/1734 Debenham.

Also looking for the ancestors of John Mann himself, born c. 1712 Debenham, d. 13/9/1792 Badingham.

I shall be in the UK soon. As far as I am aware, I have exhausted any info available at Kew and so I am contemplating a visit to the Suffolk Records Office in Ipswich. I have no idea how to proceed with my searches once there. If I go, are there staff members there who will show me the ropes?

Thanks for any help/advice

Yes they will help you out as the staff are pretty good with this sort of thing.  A word of advice though, before you go phone then up requesting to book a fiche reader because if you just turn up there is the possibility that they will all be in use but if you phone them up they will reserve one for you.

Hi Alan

Not sure if you've visited the records office yourself yet ... but I've been today and had a look at the transcript of Debenham PR.

I could not see a baptism for John Mann at Debenham c1712, sorry.

However I can confirm the baptism for Elizabeth Jennings at Elmswell, d/o John and Elizabeth Jennings, bap 12.8.1706 as you said.

Best wishes
Anne
