Hum(p)ston(e) or any other variation in Chester

I have a marriage certificate for John Emery and Mary Ann Humstone (although it is VERY difficult to read due to the handwriting) in 1847 in Eccles

I have a birth cert for their daughter, Mary Emery born 1850 in Pendleton - father john and mother Mary Ann Emery formerly Humstone / Hurmstone

I have tracked Mary Ann Hurmstone / Humston or whoever post marriage and her birth was always in Chester, on the marriage cert her father is Samuel and is a farmer and she resided in Pendleton

I cannot trace Mary ann or Samuel on the 1841 census either in cheshire or Pendleton and I can't find anything on the IGI either of a christening or a marriage of Sam

Has anyone any advice please of where I can start looking??

What was her birthyear please

Freebmd shows her surname as URMSTON

sorry i did try to make sure i included EVERYTHING !!

her birth year is circa 1825 / 1826
she died in 1908 i think

eta i am sorry that sounded a little terse - what i meant to say is that i thought I had included everything  knew and then I go and leave one of the most important factors out!!

yes i have been searching under the IGI as urmston and hurmston and with e's too but i am not seeing anything for either a birth or a marriage for samuel either

i have also been looking on the cheshire PR project too - a couple of mary's or indeed mary ann's but the father arn't matching

i don't know what else to do!

Just updating this post - thanks to a fellow rootschat person I have been looking on the updated family pilot and have now located a birth of Mary Ann HUMPSTON christened 1825 in St Oswald's Chester.  Also a William HUMSTON christened 1823 in the same church - both to parents Samuel Humston(e) and Ann
I have also located a marriage in the same church - Samuel HUMSTONE and Ann Harrison!!

On to the next brick wall!!!!

Hello humbug,

It's a bit of a long shot, but this is the only Cheshire-Humstone related post I have seen on here besides my own! :P

My 7x great grandmother was Jane Humstone (1764-1831) and she married John Pemberton (1757-1850) on 29 Sep 1783 in Tarvin and she was buried on 18 Sep 1831 in Hargrave.

I don't know whether you have any people in your tree who maybe related to Jane, but I don't think Humstone (which I have had a few alternate spellings of too) is the most popular name in Cheshire!!

If you need anymore information, contact me.  I hope by now you have knocked down a few of those brickwalls from 2010!

Thanks for the post. I'm afraid that I haven't got much further.
All I have assumed at the moment is that:-
Samuel humpstone \ Urmston born circa 1791 married Ann Harrison at St Oswald's Chester in 1822
I have only found for sure (ish!) Is their children William born 1823 and my Mary Ann in 1825.

From before (above) she married John emery which is where my line continues.

I just don't know much more to be honest than I did in 2010 !!
