Ann is living with her Aunt Ann Webster, age 68, born in Tetford, Notts; they are living in Balderton.  The ref is (H0107/2138, Folio 49, Page 28).

Will see what I can find, as her name is also Ann, she is possibly a sister of William :P

What was the name and year of birth of William and Ann's youngest child, will try and find them on the 1851.

By my reckoning there was
1842 Susannah
1844 Elizabeth
1846 Francis (burial 1847 Frances age 1?)

all bap Brant Broughton, Batch C027221

The child bap in 1835 was Jemima (aged 5 in 1841).  Now she was in Claypole in 1851 (WADKIN) ... her birthplace was given as Broughton which is a totally different place.

I suspect Will's mother was Susanna, as a Susannah WATKIN was buried at BB in 1848 aged 81.  I can see no burial for Elizabeth

Right have found Ann and daughter Susan on the 1851, there is also a daughter Jane; on the IGI there is her baptism in Brant Broughton, parents William Watkin and Susannah - ah could this be the mothers full name, that she shortened to Ann ???

Anyway here are the details:

Newark on Trent (HO107/2137, Folio 130, Page 19), transcribed on A******y as Walker

Francis Bennett, Head, Mar, 73, Weaver (Linen), Notts, Tuford
Martha     "       , Wife, Mar, 71                            , Lincs
Ann Watkin,       Widow, 46, Laundress               , Notts, Newark
Susan   "         , Dau, 9                                         , Lincs, Broughton
Jane      "         , Dau, 2                                        ,                "

What a shame that census does not give the relationship between the Bennett's and Ann >:(  Hope this all makes sense, as I am susposed to be getting ready to go out, so have rushed to get this info on here.

Well done Kath! :)

It's looking like the mysterious Ann was

Ann BENNETT, bap Newark 16 March 1805, dau of Francis and Martha

We may be led towards this marriage-
2 July 1827 Nottingham, William WADKIN to Ann BENNETT, just a few months before the baptism of Susannah in Brant Broughton.

For what it's worth, I was never happy with the Ann HILL marriage.
